This one-year Geographic Information Systems Ontario College Graduate Certificate program equips you with expertise in geographic and cartographic science, emphasizing information systems technology.
Through a blend of practical and theoretical learning, you'll examine subjects including:
field data gathering
coding
satellite imaging
corporate geo-database architecture and administration
cloud computing solutions
software creation
2D and 3D map design
geographic data interpretation and leadership
A central component involves an independent project initiated in your first term and developed throughout the program. You'll select a focus area, draft a project plan, and execute your initiative while partnering with a business or government mentor.
Applicants must have an ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent with departmental approval.
Applicants with International transcripts must provide proof of the specific requirements noted above along with proof of either: IELTS-International English Language Testing Service-Overall band of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band; OR TOEFL-Internet-based (iBT)-overall 88, with the minimum of 22 in each component: Reading 22; Listening: 22; Speaking: 22; Writing: 22.
Deadline: Applications for Fall Term and Winter Term admission received by February 1 will be given equal consideration.
