The Interactive Media Design program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma that equips students for diverse roles in the digital media sector. Skills in web design, coding, video production, and motion graphics are highly sought across all industries. The curriculum covers fundamental aspects of media project planning and execution, balancing creative and technical components equally. This comprehensive approach enables graduates to pursue various positions as versatile professionals when entering the workforce.
The program prioritizes practical media creation through coursework in digital web design, programming, video production, and motion graphics. Students can tailor their studies through specialized electives, choosing to specialize as motion graphics designers, web developers, or maintain a broad skillset. Under faculty supervision and guidance from media industry professionals, participants develop both individual and collaborative projects. Real-world experience is gained through client-based assignments, with students free to work on their preferred operating systems like Mac OS X or Windows.
College Eligibility
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. Applicants with an OSSD showing senior English and/or Mathematics courses at the Basic Level, or with Workplace or Open courses, will be tested to determine their eligibility for admission; OR
Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate; OR
General Educational Development (GED) certificate; OR
Mature Student status (19 years of age or older and without a high school diploma at the start of the program).
Applicants with International transcripts must provide proof of the subject specific requirements noted above along with proof of either: IELTS-International English Language Testing Service-Overall band of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band; OR TOEFL-Internet-based (iBT)-overall 80, with the minimum of 20 in each component: Reading: 20; Listening: 20; Speaking: 20; Writing: 20.
Deadline: Applications for Fall Term and Winter Term admission received by February 1 will be given equal consideration.
