This two-year Computer Programming Diploma from Ontario College equips students for careers in software development, with a focus on object-oriented modeling, database design, and administration.
Students work with industry-standard tools including Oracle and CASE tools while mastering programming languages like Java, COBOL, SQL, and PHP. The curriculum covers object-oriented analysis, operating systems, integrated environment coding, plus debugging, testing, and code maintenance techniques.
During their final term, students collaborate with external clients on a software development project, gaining hands-on programming experience.
The program offers an optional paid co-op opportunity for practical work experience (see Additional Information). Availability of co-op positions depends on both academic eligibility and program capacity. Admission to the co-op program doesn't ensure placement.
