This one-year Urban Forestry - Arboriculture Ontario College Certificate program offers practical training in arboriculture science and tree maintenance techniques.

You'll develop expertise in various professional arborist services, such as:

climbing trees
recognizing tree species
trimming trees
removing trees
maintaining tree health
planting trees
spotting common tree-dwelling wildlife
detecting, analyzing, and treating tree illnesses

Most of your training occurs outside in diverse weather conditions and at various elevations. You'll work with actual trees, mastering climbing methods and becoming skilled with arborist tools like chainsaws, wood chippers, and pruning equipment.
