The Akii and Environmental Stewardship Certificate program requires completion of 30 credits. Eighteen (18) mandatory credits come from specific courses aligned with NALMA's Professional Lands Management Certification Program Level I: GEOG 2196, GEOG 2017, GEOG 3307, GEOG 4407, GEOG 4816, plus either GEOG 3016 or an approved GEOG elective. Students must complete twelve additional credits by choosing any four three-credit GEOG courses, subject to approval by the Department of Geography & Geology.

Qualification Requirements

Successful completion of the IB Diploma with a minimum of 26 points and completion of all required prerequisite courses. Transfer credits may be awarded and will be determined upon receipt of official, sealed transcripts to be mailed directly from the issuing institution to Algoma University. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a notarized English translation. When proof of English language proficiency is required, test results must be issued directly from the Examining Board. Please refer to the language proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and required scores at the bottom of this page. Photocopied and notarized copies of transcripts and documents may be accepted for conditional offers of admission only. Transcripts must be issued directly by the institution to be considered official.
