Our three-year Bachelor of Arts in Community Development equips students with practical and analytical abilities to collaborate with diverse communities and drive social transformation. This distinctive program combines mandatory coursework in Community, Economic, and Social Development (CESD) with Social Work studies, creating a multidisciplinary educational experience. Learners will partner with local residents to address shared challenges, develop solutions, and establish connections with influential organizations and leaders. The curriculum teaches methods for empowering communities through skill-building initiatives while promoting social equity and inclusion by facilitating collective action.
Pursuing a community development degree offers numerous advantages. The immersive, practical training students gain while completing degree requirements proves both valuable and deeply fulfilling. During their final year, students undertake a 150-hour professional placement. Past participants have worked with organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Children's Aid Society, Batchewana First Nation, Garden River First Nation, NORDIK Institute, United Way, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Students have to complete higher Secondary School Certificate.
