Acadia's clinical psychology graduate program follows the Boulder Scientist-Practitioner approach, blending scientific research with practical application. You'll learn from PhD-qualified clinical psychologists how to implement research-backed treatments for mental health conditions and cognitive challenges. This program qualifies graduates for master's-level clinical psychologist registration in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Alberta, while also providing a foundation for doctoral studies. Licensed practitioners can transfer their credentials between provinces through the Canadian Psychological Association's Mutual Recognition Agreement.
Applicants need an honors psychology degree or equivalent (a psychology major with substantial research experience). Those without these prerequisites who are interested in counseling might consider our Master of Education in Counseling program or pursuing an undergraduate psychology degree first.
