This criminology program enables students to critically examine crime and justice systems, with special emphasis on how society and culture shape perceptions of criminal behavior and responses to it.
Key study areas encompass: justice system structures and operations; criminology's historical development and theoretical approaches; victimization types and trends; crime prevention methods and discussions; youth justice components; penal system evolution and punishment forms; policing and monitoring practices; the intersection of violence, gender, and criminal activity; crime representation in media; and current criminological controversies.
