The Bachelor of Medical Science equips students for various laboratory professions while also serving as a foundation for advanced studies like graduate research programs. This program enables learners to explore fundamental scientific principles related to human health, wellness, and their connection to diseases. Students choose one of three primary specializations: Biomedical Science, Human Nutrition, or Anatomy and Physiology. The Biomedical Science concentration emphasizes cellular, molecular, and genetic aspects of health and illness. Human Nutrition combines biological, chemical, and physiological principles to examine food components and their metabolic functions, whereas Anatomy and Physiology concentrates on human body structures and their relationship to health conditions.
Program alumni pursue careers in diverse environments such as medical research facilities, hospital labs, and pathology departments. A medical science education can also open doors to roles in pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment sales, and various research or quality assurance laboratories. For those considering postgraduate education, this degree offers excellent preparation for research pathways as well as medical and pharmacy school admissions.
