The Music major offers students outside the Music program a thorough grounding in contemporary music practices, covering performance and sound production for composition, sound design, and live shows.

Introductory courses explore core concepts like music performance basics, acoustics, stereo recording and mixing, MIDI systems and sequencing, sound synthesis, and environmental sound composition.

These technical principles are framed within an overview of electroacoustic music and sonic arts. The curriculum also covers studio methods, cutting-edge performance technologies, and composing for visual media.
