The Peace and Development Studies program focuses on approaches to advance peace, human rights, and sustainable practices. This field critically examines power imbalances and unequal opportunities that fuel global and community tensions, societal breakdown, and ecological harm. Learners will explore systemic roots of racial and gender-based violence, environmental emergencies, displacement, economic hardship, resource disputes, and unfairness between generations.
Connected solutions encompass fostering autonomy, eco-conscious lifestyles, positive growth initiatives, conflict resolution, and lasting peace efforts.
This demands knowledge of frameworks and techniques for recognizing, evaluating, and addressing disputes and environmental damage. The program critically evaluates conventional development models and their shortcomings. Participants will apply interdisciplinary social theories in practical contexts across local, national, and global settings.
