Program objectives
VU's innovative Master of Applied Research enables students to conduct and finalize a supervised research project at the master's level (AQF 9). This is accomplished through introductory coursework units focusing on a) research process fundamentals and expectations, and b) relevant disciplinary specializations when applicable. The research journey is further supported by milestone checkpoints, ensuring guidance throughout and facilitating high-quality, timely project completion.
Upon successfully finishing this program, graduates will be able to:
Show in-depth knowledge of core principles and contemporary discussions regarding research ethics and integrity;
Understand applicable national guidelines and institutional policies affecting research conduct in various settings;
Recognize critical ethical considerations specific to their research area;
Evaluate potential solutions to ethical challenges that may emerge in their field; and
Articulate and justify ethical positions relevant to their research practice and project design.
