Program objectives
VU's innovative Master of Applied Research enables students to conduct and finalize a supervised research project at the master's level (AQF 9). This is accomplished through introductory coursework units addressing a) research process fundamentals and expectations, and b) relevant disciplinary specialization when applicable. The research journey is further supported through milestone requirements that ensure guidance throughout the process and facilitate high-quality, timely project completion.
Upon successfully finishing this program, graduates will be able to:
Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of core principles and contemporary discussions surrounding research ethics and integrity;
Show awareness of pertinent national guidelines and institutional policies affecting research conduct across various settings;
Recognize crucial ethical considerations specific to their research domain;
Display capacity to analyze and choose appropriate solutions for ethical challenges in their research field; and
Articulate and justify ethical positions relevant to their research practice and project design.
