The Visual Art major offers students a comprehensive curriculum designed to cultivate personal artistic practice while expanding knowledge of art history and theory. This program enables you to create, evaluate, and discuss artworks using diverse mediums including painting, drawing, installation, digital art, and photography. Through studying influential artists and engaging in theoretical discussions, students will sharpen their critical analysis skills and foster innovative thinking. The program connects students with art professionals and the broader arts community through exhibition visits and review writing. Capstone units allow students to synthesize their learning and apply it across various contexts.
Upon completing this program, graduates will be able to:
Analyze and evaluate theories, research, and practices across humanities, social sciences, and creative arts;
