The Master of Teaching (Secondary) program is designed for university graduates from non-teaching backgrounds who aspire to teach in secondary schools (Years 7-12). Upon graduating, you'll earn a recognized qualification enabling you to teach specialized subjects to students aged 13-18 across public, religious, and private schools. This program cultivates exceptional educators who appreciate classroom diversity and foster strong ties with school communities. The curriculum emphasizes practical teaching development, featuring an intensive professional experience component starting in your first semester, with ongoing placements throughout the program. You'll undertake 60 days of professional experience (PEX), including potential rural or remote NSW placements. Additionally, international immersion opportunities let you explore global education systems and cultural understanding, though these don't count toward PEX requirements.
