This degree cultivates the hands-on expertise needed to spearhead the development, execution, and assessment of financial models for transaction structuring, risk management, and investment strategy design.
The Master of Mathematical Sciences (Financial Mathematics) provides comprehensive training in analytical, modeling, statistical, and computational methods with direct applications in finance and broader business environments.
During your initial year, you'll explore essential preparatory coursework covering multivariate and vector calculus, differential equations, statistical inference, model construction, and financial management principles. In subsequent years, you'll delve into specialized advanced studies while having the flexibility to pursue interdisciplinary subjects where mathematics and statistics play pivotal roles, including engineering, healthcare, and computing fields. The program culminates with either a research-based or coursework-focused capstone project.
A bachelor's degree with a major or minor in mathematics or statistics. If applying based on a mathematics or statistics minor, it must include a minimum of 12 credit points of mathematics or statistics subjects at the 200-level or higher.
