The Master of Maritime Policy program caters to maritime professionals in policy or operational roles, whether early or mid-career, as well as those aspiring to enter maritime or related fields. This program explores ocean-related policy, legal matters, and security challenges, examining them through the lenses of global trade, marine resource utilization, environmental conservation, and international relations. Students develop comprehensive expertise in sea law, ocean governance, and maritime security, covering topics like enforcement operations, security challenges, environmental regulations, shipping oversight, and resource management. The curriculum equips learners to evaluate legal, political, and operational influences shaping maritime law and policy, while developing strategies to address deficiencies in existing frameworks.
A recognised Bachelor Honours degree or a recognised Bachelors degree plus a Graduate Certificate in a relevant area; OR A recognised Bachelor degree and appropriate professional experience (i.e. the ability to demonstrate a number of years’ employment in a maritime related field. Examples may include naval officers, public servants or enforcement personnel). Supporting evidence should include a statement of service or employment reference. Consideration will be given to aspects such as the length and field of professional experience.
