Maritime Studies focuses on policies, regulations, and security matters concerning global oceans. It examines these topics through the lens of maritime trade significance, marine resource utilization (both biological and mineral), environmental conservation, and international relations involving conflict and collaboration.
This program supports students aiming for careers in maritime, ocean, or fisheries policy. It offers foundational knowledge in related fields like science, legal studies, resource management, environmental studies, or engineering, combined with an overview of ocean governance principles. Graduates often pursue policy roles within government agencies (national, regional, or international) dealing with resource allocation, national security, international relations, or with organizations dedicated to marine conservation and sustainable resource use.
A recognised Bachelor degree or equivalent, or appropriate professional experience. Supporting evidence of professional experience should include a statement of service or employment reference. Consideration will be given to aspects such as the length and field of professional experience.
