The Integrated Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology program is designed for research-oriented graduates seeking to deeply investigate a specialized psychology topic through rigorous research methodologies, complemented by coursework elements.
This four-year integrated PhD combines a conventional three-year doctoral dissertation with an initial year of coursework, merging broad research education with specialized subject matter into one comprehensive qualification. Candidates must complete all coursework requirements and attain at least 65% in each subject before progressing to the three-year research phase.
The program's first year focuses on coursework and developing research competencies, covering essential areas such as: research methods; literature evaluation, critical assessment or experimental work; along with specialized subjects or a preliminary research undertaking.

Qualification Requirements

The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program: IELTS Academic: 6.5 with subscores of 6.0. TOEFL ibt: 86 (Reading 18, Writing 18, Listening 17, Speaking 17).
4 year Undergraduate degree with WAM 65+ or GPA 3 out of 4. Coursework Masters with WAM 65+ or GPA 3 out of 4.

Special Admission Requirements
All applicants for research degrees must submit a written (preferably typed) proposal as part of their application. This proposal should:

commence with a statement detailing any previous research or project experience you have undertaken, including if possible a copy of the abstract of such work,
contain, in no more than one additional page, a clearly focussed research proposal for the study you would wish to undertake throughout your registration in the course, and
conclude with a statement of your motivation for wanting to undertake the research course.
