The Integrated Doctor of Philosophy program is designed for educators seeking to deepen their knowledge in a specific field while earning a research-focused doctoral degree. This qualification opens doors to advanced career opportunities, including specialized teaching positions, leadership roles, and research or advisory positions.

The program consists of eight specialized coursework units followed by a three-year research project (or part-time equivalent) conducted under supervision.

This unique PhD program merges specialized coursework in education with an extensive research component. Available specialization areas include: Adult and Vocational Education, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, ICT in Education, Literacy Studies, Special Education, and TESOL instruction.

Qualification Requirements

The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program: IELTS Academic: 6.5 with subscores of 6.0. TOEFL ibt: 86 (Reading 18, Writing 18, Listening 17, Speaking 17).
4 year Undergraduate degree with WAM 65+ or GPA 3 out of 4. Coursework Masters with WAM 65+ or GPA 3 out of 4.

Applictions must include a Supporting Statement or a detailed research proposal outlining the area of intended future research and reason for wishing to enrol in a research program.
Applicants for the PhD Integrated are encouraged to contact the Head of Postgraduate Studies (HPS) in their discipline area to obtain advice relating to potential research topics and supervisors. Special Admission Requirements
All applicants for research degrees must submit a written (preferably typed) proposal as part of their application. This proposal should:

commence with a statement detailing any previous research or project experience you have undertaken, including if possible a copy of the abstract of such work,
contain, in no more than one additional page, a clearly focussed research proposal for the study you would wish to undertake throughout your registration in the course, and
conclude with a statement of your motivation for wanting to undertake the research course.
