The School of Health and Society provides research supervision across diverse fields including Criminology, Epidemiology, Ergonomics, Health Promotion, Indigenous Health, Occupational Hygiene, Public Health, Risk Management, Social Policy, Social Work, and Work Health and Safety.
Students undertake an independent research project under supervision, culminating in a doctoral dissertation that makes a substantial original contribution to their field. The required thesis length ranges from 80,000 to 100,000 words.
Doctoral studies focus entirely on advanced research thesis work, with degree completion based on successful thesis submission rather than credit points. Both full-time and part-time study options are generally available.
