Environment and Heritage Management explores globally important topics, focusing on humanity's influence on our planet, the stewardship of precious landscapes, and urban/regional development strategies. The Bachelor of Science (Environment and Heritage Management) degree at UOW offers hands-on learning through practical sessions and field studies, utilizing the diverse Illawarra region with its urban heritage sites, coastal areas, rainforest escarpments, and freshwater habitats. Science students develop crucial abilities including analytical reasoning, innovative solution-finding, applied research techniques, organizational skills, numerical proficiency, data interpretation, technology applications (including GIS), and effective communication. This specialized curriculum integrates Physical and Human Geography with targeted coursework to equip graduates with expertise for careers or academic research addressing both cultural and environmental heritage challenges.
