This one-year Honours program is designed for psychology graduates who have completed a three-year degree and require an additional year of study to qualify for provisional registration as a psychologist. It also serves as a stepping stone for those aiming to pursue postgraduate research in psychology.
The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) represents an accredited fourth year by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. This qualification enables graduates to progress to postgraduate studies or research in Psychology while meeting the requirements for provisional psychologist registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completing an Honours year gives students a significant career advantage.
Throughout the program, you'll develop advanced writing skills to analyze and synthesize information, tackle complex problems, and deliver oral presentations in various formats. The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program: IELTS Academic: 6.5 with subscores of 6.0. TOEFL ibt: 86 (Reading 18, Writing 18, Listening 17, Speaking 17).
Applicants must hold a relevant Bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution with an approved program of study, plus at least a credit average in 200 and 300 level Psychology subjects.
