Psychology examines the human mind scientifically, exploring its functions and their impact on behavior. Research in this field aims to uncover the underlying mechanisms that drive actions across different situations. Psychological insights help us comprehend our identities, thought processes, emotions, actions, and personal growth. This understanding enables psychologists to enhance wellbeing and address mental health challenges affecting individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations.

The three-year Bachelor of Psychological Science offers two paths: specializing in psychology to pursue professional registration, or combining psychology with other disciplines from UOW's diverse offerings to open alternative career opportunities where psychological knowledge proves valuable.

High-achieving students completing an extended psychology major may qualify for the one-year Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) program, which is essential for professional accreditation.

Pairing psychology with a second major or minors from Social Science, Arts, Commerce, or Science creates pathways to careers in human resources, marketing, social research, occupational health and safety, and numerous other fields.
