Teaching at the primary level is an immensely fulfilling career that has the power to transform young lives. Primary educators instruct students from Kindergarten through Year 6 (ages 5-12), covering all subjects in the Australian primary curriculum. Graduates of UOW's Bachelor of Primary Education program emphasize holistic child development and foster a love for continuous learning in their students.
This nationally recognized degree qualifies graduates to teach from Kindergarten to Year 6 in both public and private schools. The program combines on-campus instruction with digital learning components, complemented by practical placements in schools and communities. Starting in your second year, the comprehensive professional experience component includes school placements where you'll observe teaching methods and implement your own classroom strategies early in your academic journey.
Throughout the program, you'll have access to rural and international teaching opportunities, the chance to study abroad with UOW's global partners, and options to participate in cross-cultural immersion experiences.
