This four-year program provides comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on training to prepare you for a career as a Health and Physical Education teacher. Graduates may also pursue roles in other educational settings, including positions like Sports Development Coordinators or coaching positions in athletic programs and after-school activities. The curriculum combines in-person instruction, digital learning, and community-based experiences.
Throughout the degree, you'll undertake substantial practical placements, enabling you to observe professionals and implement your skills in real classroom environments. This includes Professional Experience (PEX) placements in your second and third years, culminating in a seven-week PEX Internship during your final year. Additional opportunities include rural and international teaching placements, study abroad programs with UOW's global partners, and participation in cross-cultural immersion initiatives.
Eligible students may enroll in the embedded Honours program during their third and fourth years, which includes a supervised research project. Admission to the Honours track depends on academic performance and a formal application process.
