The Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics (Honours) is a one-year intensive program designed for top-performing graduates to delve into specialized research within their chosen field, while also serving as a pathway to advanced research degrees like a PhD.
Honours research topics are diverse and customizable, with strong support for students to follow their academic passions. Regardless of your chosen focus, future employers will recognize your skills in tackling complex challenges, meeting tight deadlines, conducting independent investigations, efficiently utilizing resources, and producing clear written work.

This honours program balances coursework and research equally (50% each). Under the guidance of academic supervisors who share your research interests, you'll undertake a significant research initiative and literature review while completing complementary coursework to strengthen your study.
Developing expertise in navigating diverse information systems for research;
Effectively communicating sophisticated concepts both verbally and in writing;
Collaborating with a supervisor on time-sensitive research projects;
Designing, investigating, and composing an original research paper with a well-developed argument or thesis.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for entry into Honours, applicants must hold a relevant Bachelors from a recognised tertiary institution with an approved program of study in data science, statistics and/or mathematics with an average of at least 65%.
Students considering an Honours degree are encouraged to talk to the Program Coordinator well in advance to seek approval for enrolment, discuss their program, and negotiate a thesis topic and supervisors.

The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program: IELTS Academic: 6.0 with subscores of 6.0 in each section. TOEFL ibt: 70 (Reading 18, Writing 18, Listening 17, Speaking 17).
