The Writing and English Literatures program blends your passion for writing with literary analysis. Studying English literatures encourages creative thinking about language while equipping you with the skills to articulate these ideas through original compositions.

At UOW, this program emphasizes both literary theory across different eras and hands-on creative writing practice. You'll explore diverse texts to sharpen your analytical abilities, critical thinking, and writing craftsmanship.
Foundational courses immerse you in creative writing and literary studies through interactive workshops, covering topics from Romantic poetry to modernist works, Shakespearean drama, and early modern theater. This program complements majors in Languages, Indigenous Studies, or Philosophy exceptionally well.
