The Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work helps experienced social workers enhance their expertise in advanced theory, practice, and research methodologies. This program requires two mandatory units plus elective options from various advanced social work topics, subject to availability. Eligible applicants must hold a social work degree and have at least two years of professional experience. Specialization areas encompass family-focused practice, community and statutory work, gender and cultural studies, disability-related topics, and management. Students can complete this Graduate Diploma through one year of full-time study or extend it to four years part-time.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have
a a relevant bachelors degree or graduate certificate1 or an equivalent qualification as recognised by UWA
and
b at least two years of experience as a professionally qualified social worker
1A relevant graduate certificate includes a Graduate Certificate in Social Work Graduate Certificate in Child Protection Practice and Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Practice

Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 must include Academic Reading and Writing modules
TOEFL - Internet-based Test iBT An overall score of 82 with a minimum score of 22 in the Writing section 18 in the Reading section 20 in the Speaking section and 20 in the Listening section for all courses.
TOEFL - Essay Rating Test of Written English TWE of 45 and either 230 Computer-based or 570 Paper-based score.
