A PhD involves an independent research project developed collaboratively between the student, supervisor, school head, and the Graduate Research School Board. This research can be conducted within any academic department across the University. The program demands the creation and execution of a thorough research strategy, grounded in extensive literature review and addressing unanswered questions from existing research or emerging theories. The final dissertation showcases the candidate's capability to record and analyze findings, develop theoretical frameworks, and contextualize results within contemporary scholarship with exceptional proficiency. Every PhD journey is distinct, as each student pursues a customized path aligned with their academic interests and professional goals. While all candidates complete research culminating in a thesis, they may also participate in coursework, industry internships, and skill-building opportunities. Numerous candidates opt to conduct portions of their research at national or international institutions during their studies.
