Prosthodontics focuses on dental restoration and maintaining oral health, function, comfort, and aesthetics through natural tooth repair or artificial replacements for missing teeth and surrounding facial structures.

The DClinDent program combines coursework with a supervised research component. Students study biostatistics, research methods, dental radiography, clinical practice, and specialized research topics. The curriculum features lectures, seminars, journal discussions, clinical work, and research projects. Interdisciplinary learning and research options are offered. Research methodology and the project account for 25% of the degree requirements.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have
a a Bachelor of Dental Science or an equivalent qualification as recognised by UWA
and
b at least two years of fulltime professional experience or equivalent in the practice of general dentistry
and
c passed the Primary Examination for Fellowship or the MRACDS GDP for Membership of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons or equivalent as recognised by UWA
and
d current registration as a dentist in Australia1

a minimum overall score 7.0 with no band less than 7.0.
