The Engineering Diploma caters to international students who might not meet direct entry criteria, have English as a second language, or require flexible start dates aligning with the University's academic calendar. This program focuses on:
Developing the English proficiency necessary for UWA studies by the diploma's final term;
Equipping students with academic skills and cognitive development to handle engineering coursework at UWA;
Delivering specialized knowledge to prepare students for second-year engineering studies;
Building confidence in discussing complex academic topics with native English speakers;
Introducing Australian academic standards, including hands-on experience with university teaching approaches.
Successful graduates receive an Engineering Diploma with 48 credit points, ensuring admission to second-year undergraduate programs in their chosen field. The curriculum enhances students' language, academic, and mathematical abilities through required and optional courses, creating pathways to specialize in fields like Software, Mining, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical and Electronic
Engineering, Civil, Chemical, Automation and Robotics, or Biomedical Engineering.
