This unit is designed for students aiming to strengthen their research abilities after completing an undergraduate science communication degree. Under guidance, students undertake an independent research project. The work involves formulating a verifiable hypothesis or research goals within science communication, choosing suitable methodologies, implementing the study, analyzing and interpreting findings, delivering a project presentation, and producing a comprehensive written thesis.
By completing this unit, students will: (1) reinforce and expand upon their undergraduate science communication knowledge; (2) understand research processes through supervised project development; and (3) enhance key research competencies including literature evaluation, study design, data gathering and interpretation, and effective results communication.
