The Psychology Honours program has received unconditional accreditation from the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as a fourth-year psychology qualification. This specialisation features a significant research component that builds upon undergraduate research foundations and equips students for progression into PhD programs and research-focused master's degrees.
Students will develop the ability to: (1) evaluate diverse theoretical perspectives, research methodologies, and scientific findings across major areas of modern psychology; (2) assess contemporary psychological measurement techniques for clinical psychology and neuropsychological cases; (3) examine evidence-based treatment approaches for psychological and neuropsychological disorders; (4) recognize and articulate culturally sensitive considerations, including Indigenous Australian perspectives, in psychological practice; (5) apply advanced statistical methods to analyze complex datasets; (6) conduct psychological research encompassing question formulation, study design, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting; and (7) effectively communicate research findings through various formats - written, oral, and digital - to both specialist and general audiences.
