The Honours in Population Health program involves conducting a supervised research project while completing specialized research training. You'll participate in academic activities within the School of Population Health and across the university. Earning this honours qualification equips you with the necessary expertise for pursuing advanced research degrees or prepares you for health sector roles demanding exceptional research capabilities, advanced problem-solving, and communication skills.
Students will develop competencies to: (1) conduct independent research; (2) formulate research questions/hypotheses; (3) locate relevant academic literature; (4) critically evaluate existing research related to their topic; (5) design valid research methodologies; (6) execute research plans; (7) communicate research objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions effectively; (8) contextualize results within public health frameworks; (9) address ethical considerations in research; (10) successfully complete research projects; and (11) incorporate expert feedback productively.
