Pursuing an honors degree in Marine Science involves investigating either marine ecosystem dynamics (Marine Biology specialization) or coastal/oceanic physical processes (Coastal and Oceans specialization). Students undertake diverse research projects covering marine conservation, fisheries, oceanography, coastal processes, and ocean monitoring. Projects may involve original data collection or analysis of existing datasets. Through this work, students develop essential skills in analytical reasoning, research methodology, data interpretation, scientific communication, and public speaking. To be eligible for admission to your chosen honours course at UWA you must successfully - complete a bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
Applicants wishing to commence an undergraduate degree at UWA must satisfy the Universitys academic and English language competence ELC requirements to be eligible for a place within the course.
Overseas secondary studies taught and examined in English Secondary teaching and examination in English is acceptable if deemed equivalent to Australian matriculation Year 12 with a pass in the final year English paper completed within two years of application.
IELTS Academic - Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 must include Academic Reading and Writing modules for all courses.
TOEFL - Internet-based Test iBT An overall score of 82 with a minimum score of 22 in the Writing section 18 in the Reading section 20 in the Speaking section and 20 in the Listening section for all courses.
TOEFL - Essay Rating Test of Written English TWE of 45 and either 230 Computer-based or 570 Paper-based score.
