Environmental Science examines how human actions affect our planet and creates science-based, risk-informed strategies to promote sustainability. As an Environmental Science major, you'll work on addressing worldwide ecological challenges like climate change, carbon markets, greenhouse gases, water conservation, soil salinity, forest loss, and more.
This interdisciplinary major combines biological and earth sciences to tackle diverse environmental problems. You'll learn scientific modeling techniques to develop practical solutions for issues including climate change, carbon markets, water management, land rehabilitation, biodiversity loss, deforestation, resource depletion, pollution control, and groundwater protection. The program may include up to three overnight field trips (with estimated costs of 500 per student for approximately 10 nights of food and lodging).
