Zoology examines the variety of animal life and their survival, adaptation, and continuity. The Zoology program offers students the chance to investigate animals and their ecosystems, including Western Australia's distinctive wildlife. These environments vary widely, encompassing arid deserts, seasonal wetlands, and lush rainforests. Zoologists work to solve challenges posed by these diverse habitats.
This program equips students with a solid foundation in animal anatomy, biological functions, and the evolutionary mechanisms behind species diversity. The curriculum also covers physiology, reproductive biology, animal behavior, ecological communities, and genetic research. Zoology supports conservation efforts and marine studies, playing a key role in fisheries research and ecosystem preservation. Students should anticipate one or two overnight field excursions (with personal expenses for meals and lodging, approximately $200 for four nights).
