The Psychology Honours program has received unconditional accreditation from the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as a fourth-year psychology qualification. This specialisation features a significant research component that builds upon undergraduate research training, equipping students for progression into PhD programs and research-focused master's degrees.
Learning outcomes: Graduates will be able to (1) critically assess current psychological research; (2) develop testable hypotheses in psychological fields; (3) create experimental designs to evaluate these hypotheses using appropriate methodologies; (4) gather original research data; (5) analyze complex datasets through advanced statistical methods; (6) effectively communicate research results both verbally and in writing; (7) produce a scientific dissertation following disciplinary standards; (8) evaluate various theoretical and empirical approaches to key issues in contemporary psychology and apply them appropriately; (9) deliver engaging research presentations to diverse audiences; and (10) demonstrate fundamental skills in applying evidence-based approaches to integrate assessment and intervention information.
