Our Criminology major is available within the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours), or as a secondary specialization in most other undergraduate programs. This program enables students to explore fundamental aspects of criminology's role in analyzing and addressing criminal behavior, while fostering critical analysis of Australia's current justice system practices.
As an interdisciplinary field, criminology has developed through various academic disciplines' examination of offenders and criminal behavior.
Compared to the broader bachelor's degree, our Criminology major offers deeper exploration of crime-related knowledge and perspectives, emphasizing criminological theory, psychological factors, and historical contexts. The curriculum covers essential criminology topics including modern theories of criminal behavior, the justice system's current framework, effective offender rehabilitation methods, and both domestic and global influences on criminal justice policies.
