This program prepares individuals by equipping them with specialized knowledge applicable across various professional settings, while also serving as a stepping stone for advanced engineering education. Those holding an undergraduate degree in a non-related engineering discipline may be eligible to enroll. Each application receives personalized evaluation, with the curriculum customized according to the applicant's existing qualifications. Candidates without a degree but possessing a TAFE diploma or equivalent engineering certification, along with substantial relevant professional experience, may also qualify.
The program offers an opportunity for students from diverse engineering backgrounds to assess their readiness for graduate-level engineering studies. Upon completion, students may receive advanced standing of 12, 18, or 24 credit points toward a master's degree, determined through individual evaluation.

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
Applicants must hold a qualification in an engineering field, and are required to specify on their application which new or varied field of engineering they wish to pursue.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
