The Bachelor of Science Bachelor of Business program equips graduates for careers in scientific fields or business management within technical, financial, regulatory, environmental, health, or biomedical sectors across industries and government agencies. Students select one of seven specialized science majors and can also choose a business specialization, combining studies from both disciplines. Based on their chosen fields, graduates may pursue diverse career paths in commodities trading, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, healthcare, research, environmental protection, or public sector roles.
There's increasing demand for professionals who bridge science and business. The program develops both technical scientific knowledge and business acumen, along with transferable skills valued by employers.
Graduates gain access to dual career markets. Specific career paths depend on chosen majors, detailed in the Bachelor of Science (C10242) and Bachelor of Business (C10026) program descriptions. Potential roles include: policy analysis, science consulting, finance, communications, data analysis, product development, manufacturing, marketing, biotechnology, museum curation, and environmental management across various industries.
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
