The UTS Bachelor of Nursing program equips students for the dynamic and demanding profession of nursing. This degree offers an extensive curriculum blending classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience, ensuring graduates possess the expertise, abilities, and ethical foundation needed to deliver high-quality patient care. Our alumni enter the workforce fully prepared and are in high demand across various healthcare sectors both in Australia and abroad.
Spanning three years of full-time study (or part-time equivalent), the Bachelor of Nursing combines academic coursework with practical training. Clinical rotations form a core part of the program, starting in the first year's Spring session and continuing throughout the degree. The curriculum incorporates simulation-based training to help students transition smoothly into clinical environments and their future nursing careers. During their final year, students can select specialized electives such as pediatric care, intensive care, surgical nursing, palliative care, or addiction nursing.
Registered nurses can pursue diverse career paths in specialties like public health, emergency care, primary practice, geriatrics, mental health, surgical nursing, or child health. Advancement opportunities include roles such as clinical consultant, specialist nurse, educator, healthcare manager, advanced practitioner, or rural healthcare provider, along with academic and research positions.
