The Bachelor of Engineering (Combined with the Bachelor of Sustainability and Environment) is a double degree that provides a strong foundation in engineering and a multidisciplinary understanding of sustainability. You’ll explore sustainability as a scientific, legal, and social domain, blending theory with practical experience. Excursions and studios with industry and community partners help consolidate knowledge and apply skills to real-world challenges. This degree is ideal if you're passionate about creating sustainable solutions, preparing you for leadership roles in engineering and sustainability sectors.
You must complete 246 credit points: 162 in Engineering and 84 in Sustainability and Environment. The Engineering component includes core (42 credit points), major (114 credit points), and Diploma in Professional Practice (6 credit points). The sustainability component comprises core (42 credit points) and stream choice (42 credit points). The Engineering major is chosen at admission, with the option to apply for a change later. Flexible major students should decide by the end of their first year whether to transfer to a designated major or continue flexibly.
The Sustainability and Environment component of 84 credit points comprises 6 core subjects (42 credit points), and 42 credit points in elective choices spanning subjects related to Science (6 credit points), Governance and Policy; Society and Culture; Business and Economics; Science and Environment (36 credit points). This flexible study plan allows for global study exchange options.
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
