This program adopts a hands-on learning methodology by blending digital and traditional technologies in the comprehensive domain of integrated product design, while also providing opportunities to specialize in cutting-edge product design innovations. The Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation employs a cross-disciplinary framework, incorporating insights from various fields along with industry exposure, real-world applications, and student-driven projects to prepare graduates for tackling complex global challenges and unexplored possibilities. Moving beyond conventional industrial design, product design now encompasses the evolving demands of the international design landscape. With a focus on both innovation and technical skills, the curriculum develops students' ability to holistically approach, visualize, and bring to life products, services, and systems as professional designers. Students can also choose to specialize in interaction design through an optional sub-major.
Career Paths
Graduates can pursue roles such as in-house designer for global corporations or niche manufacturers; industrial or interaction designer; specialist in furniture, lighting, or homeware design; developer of sports and recreational products; creator of smart objects, systems, and services; designer of medical and scientific equipment; or independent design entrepreneur.
As innovative problem-solvers, idea generators, strategic planners, global thinkers, network architects, or sustainability pioneers in their field, graduates enhance their professional value. Their ability to recognize and address complex disciplinary and societal challenges makes them highly desirable in the job market.
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
The English proficiency requirement is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
