The Bachelor of Construction Project Management equips students with essential management, technological, and process expertise for rewarding careers in diverse construction projects. The program covers various project management approaches, emphasizing practical application in real-world scenarios. These skills are transferable to other industries, expanding career prospects.
With a focus on digital tools like building information modeling, students gain insight into cutting-edge industry advancements. The course mandates at least 200 days of hands-on industry experience, often through paid positions with contractors or consultants (commonly known as cadetships). Students can enhance their perspective by selecting electives or a sub-major in fields beyond construction, such as business, environmental studies, international studies, or Indigenous studies.
Career Paths
Graduates can pursue roles including project manager, construction manager, cost consultant, quantity surveyor, design coordinator, sustainability manager, contracts administrator, site supervisor, construction scheduler, cost analyst, estimator, facilities coordinator, or real estate developer.
Employment options span both private and public sectors, with potential employers ranging from property owners and construction firms to government agencies and consulting firms, or as independent professionals. As vital contributors to the construction field, graduates collaborate with various specialists, industry organizations, and regulatory bodies.
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
The Faculty-based adjustment scheme awards ten (10) adjustment points to female applicants. Adjustment points are capped at thirteen (13) points across all the university schemes.
Students who have completed a TAFE Diploma in one the following areas will receive five (5) adjustment points: Building or Planning or Architectural Technology or Design or Architectural Drafting or Civil Engineering or Project Management.
Academic IELTS- 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0, or TOEFL- paper based- 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based- 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21, or AE5- Pass, or C1A/C2P- 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
