The Bachelor of Communication (Honours) enables graduates to engage in advanced studies across communication, social sciences, cultural studies, and creative arts. This program equips students for professional careers or further academic research, focusing on interdisciplinary methods and connecting academic knowledge with current societal and cultural challenges.
Pursuing an honours degree in communication allows students to refine their research capabilities for professional work or advanced academic studies in communication research and creative fields. Under the guidance of distinguished researchers and practitioners, students complete advanced coursework and develop a project aligned with their academic, professional, or creative focus.
This program develops graduates' analytical abilities, innovative thinking, and project management skills, preparing them for diverse roles in communication and creative sectors like digital media, public relations, journalism, music, artistic practice, policy development, and writing. Additionally, graduates gain strong foundations for postgraduate research or research-oriented careers, with specific opportunities varying by their chosen specialization.
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline at an appropriate level.
Applicants are admitted to the honours program only if appropriately qualified UTS- Communication academic staff are available for supervision for the thesis component.
Academic IELTS- 7.0 overall with a writing score of 7.0, or TOEFL- paper based- 584-609 overall with TWE of 5.0, internet based: 94-101 overall with a writing score of 27
