The Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) program is tailored for individuals without prior accounting experience or those seeking to enhance their skills to meet professional accounting standards. Applicants who already possess an accredited accounting qualification from an Australian institution are ineligible for this program. This course spans 2 years for full-time students or 4 years for part-time students, delivered through the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, and consists of 16 academic units.
To be eligible for an offer, applicants must have: A completed undergraduate or postgraduate course in any discipline at Bachelor level (AQF level 7) or higher (or equivalent). Students having a prior qualification in accounting will be considered for recognition of prior learning (up to 4 units).
In addition to the requirements for international applicants must also provide one of the following:
IELTS 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0)
TOEFL (iBT) 72 (no skill below: Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; Writing 22)
PTE Academic 50 with no score lower than 50
UTAS English for Academic Purposes - EAP2 - 60% (no individual score less than 60%).
Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English) - B Grade
Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) Higher - C Grade.
