This full-time one-year program, or part-time over two years (maximum), is offered in Hobart and potentially Launceston depending on supervision availability. The program delivers: specialized training in the student's undergraduate field, research skill development to prepare for advanced studies (such as MSc or PhD) or research careers, and concentrated expertise in a specific scientific discipline. Honors graduates gain strong professional advantages in their chosen field. BSc(Hons) graduates qualify for membership in various professional associations. Students will undertake research projects culminating in a thesis, and may need to complete advanced coursework units. Additional requirements could include literature reviews, essays, grant proposals, and seminar presentations. Each specialization includes mandatory core units for the research component, with some offering optional coursework electives.
