This full-time one-year or part-time two-year (maximum) program is offered in Hobart and, depending on supervision availability, in Launceston. The program's objectives include: advanced education in the student's primary undergraduate field, research skills development to prepare for further studies such as MSc and PhD programs or roles in research institutions, and specialized expertise in a specific scientific discipline. Honours graduates are well-positioned for professional opportunities in their chosen field. BSc(Hons) graduates qualify for membership in various professional associations. Each student will undertake research and produce a thesis. Additionally, students may need to complete and pass one or more advanced units and engage in activities like compiling literature reviews, writing essays and grant proposals, and delivering seminars. Every specialization includes mandatory core units for the research project, with some offering optional coursework electives.
